Dis-ease — L.C. Firebird

Dis-ease

by L.C. Firebird

And then it was said,
in the silence
of the group,
Shame had come upon us.
Each of us knew the disconnect
of self and great spirit.
There began the sickness.
The disorder.
It is up to one
to break the fears.
To allow others the light.
We may never escape
this very human situation,
as it occurs over
and over again,
in the course of a lifetime.
But may we have more
Courage
each time
to speak.
