Un-full
by Francesca Lia Block & Lilly Barels
There’s this empty place
inside me worse than hollow.
The new year enjoys
reminding, taunting, repeating
how I wanted a man to
fill it, but I’m so unseen.
The winter takes my breath away.
It’s too cold and I’m falling into
that blankness,
longing for something whole
to hold,
to save me.
